Clay Stick Foundation in Light Beige

I opted for the shade Light Beige as the palest option looked for once too pale for me. I also have 3 other Tarte foundations in light and all match me very well. I have not used a stick foundation ever since Benefit discontinued their play sticks many years ago, as I tend to find them quite hard to buff into the skin. This clay stick was creamy and easy to blend with either a brush or sponge and was buildable in areas I needed extra coverage. It wore quite well for the 10 hours I wore it and I have oily/combo skin.

Ladies Night Palette

The Ladies Night palette comes in a round compact with the purple mock croc effect of the Lights camera lashes mascara. It contains 6 shadows, 3 matte and 3 shimmer. There is;

  • Selfie a light matte highlight and brow bone shade
  • Payday a matte transition shade
  • Clutch a deep rose gold shimmer
  • Blowout  a shimmery burgandy delight- my personal favourite shade
  • Own It a shimmering gold
  • Vanity a deep chocolate brown

The centre of the palette houses an Amazonian clay blush in glammed. These are genuinely some of my favourite blushes. It's a great every day shade and would work equally as well with cool tones as with the warmer shades in the palette.

There's also a nice mid tone matte bronzer called happiest hour. It's a lovely warm but not orange shade and was really easy to blend on top of the foundation and added a natural glow.

Speaking of glow the Gal Pal highlighter is a beautiful shimmering cream colour. Not full of chunky glitter and didn't enhance any texture.

Lights Camera Lashes Mascara and Lip Sculptor in Sass

Lights Camera Lashes is my everyday mascara, I think I've used about 6 tubes up I love it that much. It contains a rice extract to add volume to lashes in the same way rice swells as it cooks. It's a deep black that adds volume and length without flaking or smudging. And most importantly I think as an Optician, it removes easily and causes no irritation to my sensitive eyes! It has a traditional bristle brush and isn't too big so you can get into the smaller corner lashes easily.

Lip Sculptor in Sass lipstick and gloss

The Lip Sculptor lipstick and gloss in Sass is a deeper mauve but is still a pretty natural everyday colour. I naturally have quite pigmented lips so if a colour is too "nude" I can look like I have concealer lips so I need a bit more pigment in lip products. Tarte lipsticks are always creamy and smooth to apply and the glosses are pigmented and not too sticky. They can be worn seperately or layered for a more intense look.

I have lots of Tarte brushes and along with Real Techniques and Bareminerals are the only brush brands I use. The eyeshadow brush is fluffy enough to be used to blend colours into the crease but can also be used to apply a light wash of colour to the lids, I prefer flat brushes generally for packing on colour.

Foundation and Eyeshadow brush

The foundation brush is angled and although the bristles are densely packed together it does not feel hard on the face. It is great for buffing but is also great for blending out under eye concealer and stippling product where you need more coverage. Both brushes are housed in a beautiful gold and are made from synthetic hairs.

Tarte Cosmetic Bag

The bag is in Tarte's signature purple with a gold zip. It's more than big enough to house the entire collection with plenty of extra room. In fact I'm lending it to Michelle for when she goes to Birmingham next week.

I love this collection, as I knew I would. Tarte products never disappoint me and they fact that are cruelty free is even better. This is the perfect starter/introduction kit to Tarte as you literally have everything you need for a complete look, you can of course add brows, concealer and a finishing powder if you wish.

With QVC's 30 day money back guarantee if you have ever wanted to try Tarte there really is nothing to lose. I'd be surprised if you don't love this kit as much as I do.
